Over 300 years ago, Lord Eldermont ruled over the shores of this lake. He fell in love with an Elven princess from a faraway land and set out with his army to capture her. He assaulted her homeland, slayed many of her kin and whisked her back to his lands. She never returned his feelings, but because of his obsession with her and the lengths he went to bring her to him, he constructed a manse on an island out in the middle of a lake. There he kept her in near isolation outside of a small staff, visiting her with food and supplies every fortnight. The ruins of this prison still sit on cliffs of that island, a haunting reminder of the lord's cruelty. Some say on moonless nights, that the ghost of the princess can be seen gliding through the halls and desolate courtyards. Is her spirit vengeful, or does the party need to free her from her eternal anguish? What secrets lie below the trapdoors and in the cellars and basements of the manse? Tell me how you would use this map in the comments below!
